PTA Membership form for 2010-11 Ocee PTA Presidents' Message Can you believe that it has been ten years? Yes, ten years since Ocee Elementary opened its doors to the Ocee community in the fall of 2000. Where did the time go? And, I bet you are asking yourself the same thing about your summer. Where did the time go? As you enjoy your last few days of summer, feel comforted in knowing that your Ocee Parent Teacher Association (PTA) board has been working all summer preparing for the new school year. Convention and meetings have been attended, events have been planned, budgets have been set, and educational programs are in place to enhance your child’s learning experience at Ocee. Through your generosity, we are able to fund over fifty areas such as Science Zone, Cultural Arts, Reflections, Accelerated Reader, Young Authors and Random Acts of Kindness Week, just to name a few. This year, income will be generated primarily through our membership drive and also through a revamped Sally Foster program that we are excited to offer. Also, don’t forget the other easy ways to earn money for our school by collecting box tops and by swiping your Publix tag attached to the Ocee grocery tote that you will receive by joining Ocee PTA. At Otter Open House on August 19, make sure you get connected by signing up for our online volunteer opportunities and for the weekly Ocee newsletter. Both are great ways to be involved and enhance both your and your child’s Ocee experience. New this year—you can show your Ocee spirit by purchasing your very own spirit wear on site at Otter Open House to wear on the first day of school. We look forward to seeing you there and look forward to partnering with you and the Ocee administration and staff for another great year at Ocee Elementary.
