Six Flags “Read To Succeed”

The Ocee PTA participates in this Six Flags sponsored program for children in grades K through 6. Every student who completes six hours of recreational reading during the 4 week reading period is eligible for a free admission ticket valid at participating Six Flags theme parks. More information and the reading logs will be sent home in early January Thursday papers, and it starts on January 15, 2015. The same information is available for download from this page including English/Spanish copies of the parent letter and reading logs.

2014-2015 Dates

-Students read a minimum of 6 hours and records on reading logs (parents initial entries)
-All logs must be signed by parents and turned into the student’s teacher by February 20, 2015.
-Logs will be forwarded to Six Flags by Ocee PTA.

Reading can include:

-books, magazines, newspapers, or comic books
-kids can read silently, aloud, or with an adult
-you can read to your child, or your child can read to you.

Reading cannot include:

-any reading your child must do for homework or a class assignment

Reading Logs

-Your child should use the reading log to record what and how long he/she reads.
-Parents will need to initial each entry and then sign the reading log to verify that the six
hours of reading has been completed.
-Reading logs must be returned to his/her teacher by February 21st.

Tickets

-Tickets will be distributed to students in the May timeframe for admission on select dates during
the 2015 summer season (June 5 – August 2, 2015 EXCEPT July 3, 4, 5, 6).
-Family Discount Offer! Parents can purchase an additional ticket and pay the kid’s admission
price, instead of the adult price. This will be available online only using the promotional code
RTS at www.SixFlags.com.
